Thor Jensen was born a New Yorker, but raised on the eastern Connecticut shoreline where he started teaching himself the guitar at age 10. At 16, he began playing in local rock and jam bands in the city of New London and spent his high school years and the following decade playing gigs and teaching lessons. It was during this time that Thor fell hard for jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt and began adding that to his repertoire and studies.

Thor has lived and worked as a musician in southeastern CT, Long Beach, California, and New York. For the past four years, he was a member of Quiet Life. A Portland, OR based band, Quiet Life has toured all over the US and UK. In the last four years they've shared bills with Alabama Shakes, The Head and the Heart, Dr. Dog, Shovels and Rope, Portugal the Man and Pokey LaFarge.

Thor currently resides in Brooklyn, and is a member of the Stephane Wrembel Band.
